Who is eligible for JKM financial support in Malaysia?
To be eligible for the JKM financial assistance for mobility aids, you need to fulfill the following criteria:
- Malaysian national who is residing in Malaysia
- Included in the JKM target group
- Those with household income below the current average household poverty line or income below the current average per capita poverty line
- Recommendation by a medical officer or expert (government/private) or a JKM officer, according to the type of disability
How to apply for JKM aid?
Application for JKM aid can be made directly through District or Division or Regional Social Welfare Offices or online through e-JKM website.
Medical verification may be needed to support the application. Each application will undergo an investigation for assessment (means-tested) to verify the applicant's eligibility for assistance. This process aligns with the principle of aid delivery based on eligibility and not entitlement. To facilitate administrative procedures, applicants are requested to bring supporting documents when attending the Social Welfare Office:
- Copy of the applicant's identity card
- Copy of the identity card of the spouse/parent/child living together
- Copy of the birth certificate of children/family members living together
- Copy of the salary statement (if available)
